Why does it take longer than the Arad run, when it is shorter?

Because only part of it is motorway. After Berettyóújfalu the route runs on single carriageway through villages, whereas the Arad road stays on motorway almost to the crossing. It is 252 kilometres against 260, but about thirty minutes longer.
